sample text in Dene fonts

Northern Internet connections are slow and expensive. Out of respect for the northern users of Dene fonts, this site contains mainly text. The author takes pride therefore, in the rather spartan appearance of these pages.

A few B&W graphics have been used to show examples of the Dene Fonts but these are kept as small as possible. You should turn on the "Auto Load Images" or "Show Pictures" option in your browser to see the examples on the FAQ page.

KNOWN ISSUES TO BE CORRECTED IN A FUTURE RELEASE

1. Notice to XP users - THE GLITCH IS FIXED - KEYMAN NOW WORKS PROPERLY WITH WINDOWS XP.

2. North Slavey shwa (lower case upside down e) was not rotated correctly. This is fixed in the New Release, but not in the older Mac font archives.

3. Macintosh TrueType WinMac Fonts do not print on Post Script printer.
Some new PostScript fonts are is available on the
Downloads page. Fully backward compatible, just poorer screen characters.
A full PostScript set for Mac with bitmap screen fonts is finished but not available as a download yet. Email me if you need a CD.

4. When using tables and showing all characters, the end-of-cell character appears as a Capital E with deresis, acute accent, and nasal. This does not affect use or printing of tables but may be visually confusing. Hide special characters when working with tables if you find this undesirable.

5. Keyman 3.2 Keyboard manager does not work properly with ClarisWorks 5.0 for Windows 95. Email me for a work-around (kludge) if you MUST use CWK 5.0.

6. Macintosh OS 8.5 users report problems using SILKey version 1.0.2
A newer version 1.2 is is available on the
Downloads page.

5. OS X keyboard for Mac is available but not downloadable. Email me for a keyboard resource for native Mac OS X applications.
